Hi, I'm Ivan. I turn ambitious ideas into working software.

A developer in Zagreb, working in JavaScript and Python. I take on freelance work, from ordinary websites to the ideas people have been talking themselves out of.

Projects

profiler-machine on GitHub

A desktop surveillance system: point it at a camera feed and it detects, recognises and tracks people in real time, with a mobile web interface for monitoring it remotely.

Real-time computer vision on consumer hardware: InsightFace for recognition, ByteTrack to hold an identity when someone walks behind a pillar, and anti-spoofing so a printed photo doesn't fool it.

The profiler-machine startup screen, headed Profiler Machine, system initialization. A timestamped boot log reports core system, feed manager, audio, video stream, interface, facial detection, facial recognition, body detection, database, auto enroll, antispoof and threat assessment all OK, ending with All Systems Operational. The profiler-machine mobile interface: a login screen headed PROFM, Profiler_Machine V1.0.0, with an identification number field and an Authenticate button.

portfolio on GitHub

This site. Hand-written HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No framework, no build step.

Hand-rolled because a framework would have been three times the payload for a page this size. Recursive, I know.

CSS Updated August 2026

v14-template on GitHub

Starter code for a Discord bot, built on discord.js v14.

Command handling, event wiring and config already sorted, so a new bot starts at the interesting part instead of the setup.

What I work in

  • 0.1 + 0.2 = 0.30000000000000004
  • Uses more whitespace than a blank sheet of paper.
  • There are no bugs, only undefined behavior.
  • z-index:9999 still loses to a parent that opened a stacking context.
  • Nine times in ten, the slow database is one missing index.

Measured: language mix by volume across my public projects, current and archived.

Beyond the code

Formula 1

I watch the race on Sunday, then reproduce the strategy errors myself in a simulator on Monday. Ferrari and I have more in common than either of us would like.

The gym

Progressive overload is the only optimisation problem I've never been tempted to over-engineer.

Linux

Running Arch, which means everything that breaks is at least my own fault. Good practice for the day job.

Get in touch

I'm available for freelance work: Python and JavaScript projects, websites, and anything in between.

Tell me what you need. I come back with a scope and a price. If it works for you, I build it.

The price is fixed before work starts: 25% up front, the rest on completion. Most jobs take a few days, longer if the scope moves, and there is no minimum size.
